Stranger in a Strange Land, New Edition

Loathe:

• allergies
• not having the motivation to go out and pick up job applications
• living in the same house as 3 other people (I love my family, but I miss it being just me and my lady)

Love:

• new library books on two of my favorite things: knitting & religious studies
• taking the dogs to the beach, even if it was appallingly muddy
• missgolightly was offered a job shadow practically guaranteed to turn into a job, so we'll have some money coming in 
• my family; even though they drive me crazy, they're still pretty awesome
  
• the first two episodes of Rome
• re-reading Heinlein's Stranger in a Strange Land
• being almost unpacked

Loathe:

• putting more of our stuff in storage
• Megaupload only letting me download one episode of Veronica Mars at a time
  

Love:

• the new {free!} Coke glasses from McDonald's (honestly, the last thing we need are more glasses, but they're so cute!)
• my new Nintendo DS
  
• New Super Mario Bros. for the DS
• I saw a bunny in the yard!
• applying for a job about which I am actually excited~ Public Library Service assistant (check out books, reshelve, help the little kiddies get their library cards~ yay!)
• finally finding my external harddrive
• I'm aware that this train has passed, but I would so have Logan Echolls adorable, fucked-up babies
  

Dramallama

Loathe:

• it was only lightly sprinkling when we left the Tri-Cities; of course, by the time we got to Ellensburg, it was POURING DOWN RAIN and I was wearing flip-flops and no jacket
• sitting in class for an hour while each person in our 20+ class talks about the topic of their final essay
• drama~ THE DRAMA LLAMA SAYS 'NO DRAMA'!
• the paper I'm supposed to be writing
• incredibly vague study guides
• not knowing which box the cable that connects my camera to my computer is packed in
  

Love:

• super sweet & delicious strawberries for breakfast
• my girl looking adorable, sleeping with a dragon blanket from Ikea
• the rain has, I believed, finally stopped
• being almost halfway done with the paper I'm supposed to be writing
• my new ceramic owl, whose name, I have decided, is Socrates
  

Loathe:

• forgetting to do this on Tuesday two weeks in a row
• Micah having to stay overnight at the vet's because of a nasty infection w/unknown cause
• having to write four papers of various lengths in the next few days
• ALL MY CLASSES (graduation is just too soon for me to enjoy them)
• the weather: rain, 90 degrees, rain, 90 degrees... yuck.
• having to spend my book buyback money on bills
  

Love:

• my first (early) birthday present: Guitar Hero!
  
• yowly kitty is spending the week at my mother-in-law's
• graduation is so, so close
• my class substitution finally processed
• Veronica Mars on Netflix (we watched another disc last night)
• a new episode of Vampire Knight should be up & subbed tonight~ I adore the manga of this series, and the anime is JUST AS GOOD. Oh, the sexy animated vampire hotness.
  

Loathe:

• quiz tomorrow when I've been, um.... remiss... in my attendance
• cleaning up after a puppy who, I swear, is PURPOSEFULLY RESISTING potty training
• a scratch under the nosepad of my glasses (ouch!)
• having no furniture in my living room...or bedroom...or office...or kitchen
• my mom being so stressed out from work that every conversation with her is like walking on my hands through a minefield WHILE BLINDFOLDED

• the trailer for Twilight. Take one cheap, poorly written, melodramatic, teenage vampire book, add two attractive but dim actors and a splash of Pacific Northwest scenery= "Wow, I probably shouldn't be laughing this loud in a public venue"

• visible progress on the first Austrian Sock
• Ep. 5.3 of Buffy- "The Replacement" (two Xanders!)
• Ep. 5.4 of Buffy- "Out of My Mind" (the sound of Spuffy-shipper's HEADS EXPLODING gets me every time)

Loathe:

• probably failing an exam in a class and having only myself to blame
• eating out for the billionith time this week because we're both too lazy to cook
• Ellensburg spring wind
• the feeling that I should be amazing at something I just learned how to do

Love:

• staring at my new handspun yarn, regardless of whether or not it's pretty
• snuggling my 1-year-old birthday boy
• Alice sleeping a whole hour later than usual
• quiet time in the afternoon to sit and read my book (American Gods, by Neil Gaiman: I've read this before, and although I love all of his works, as a Religious Studies major, this is one of my favorites)
• doggie birthday party
